Mary Bess Curry Hall
September 26, 1927 – November 11, 2025
Mary Bess Curry Hall passed away peacefully in her home in Frisco, Texas, at the age of 98. A woman of deep faith, steady devotion, and quiet strength, Mary lived a life that reflected her love for God, her family, and her church.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin F. Hall, daughter, Sharon Ann Hall Trent (Dale Trent) sister, Shirley Evelyn Wood Curry (Alvin Wood) and parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda K. Hall Perkins and husband James, granddaughter, Katherine Ann Trent Amrein and husband Zachary and grandson Joshua Hall Perkins and wife Brittney.
Mary was born in 1927 to John and Nellie Curry. When her father passed away in 1942, it left her mother widowed with two daughters during difficult times. Yet Mary, her mother, and her sister learned to survive, to find joy, and to place their faith in God. These early experiences shaped Mary's strength and deep spiritual foundation
Mary graduated from Sweetwater High School. Soon she was to meet, Marvin Frank Hall, the love of her life. Married in Mitchell County on July 25,1948, they began their married life in West Texas. Enjoying married life they created a sound foundation.
Being blessed with their first daughter, Sharon, life was good. A transfer to Irving was prompted by Marvin's job and they moved. Welcoming their second daughter, Brenda, they continued to build lifelong friendships among their church community and Marvin's coworkers. They later lived in Houston, then Dallas, and creating a warm, loving home wherever they went.
After Marvin passed away, Mary remained in Forney for two years before moving to Frisco to be closer to both of her daughters and her grandchildren. She enjoyed life deeply and found happiness in the simple joys of being at home.
Mary was an exceptional seamstress-skilled, precise, and creative. She was also a fabulous cook who could make any meal feel special. She loved entertaining her family, and her holiday gatherings were beautifully planned, joyful, and unforgettable. Just ask her daughter about her many other talents….including the ability to out-shop and out-last anyone; her crackle-painting; her bowling; the ability to design a dress using multiple patterns and then sew it to perfection; her ability to balance a checkbook register to the cent because she would not give up and just make an adjustment; her ability to be present even when she was exhausted.
Mary was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Christ. At Rock Hill Church of Christ, she attended every church service and gospel meeting and joyfully provided food, support, and help for any event. Her devotion to the church was unwavering and lived out through service and attendance.
Mary's life was defined by faith, love, and steadfast dedication. She will be missed deeply by her family and her Rock Hill church family. Her example of strength and kindness will continue to guide those who loved her. "It is well with my soul".
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Rockhill Church of Christ in Frisco, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to Rockhill Church of Christ or the
charity of your choice.
