Mary Hart Obituary

Mary Hart
St Peters MO - Mary Elizabeth Hart, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with chronic leukemia. In her final weeks and months, she was lovingly cared for by her family, who ensured she remained in the comfort of her home.
Born in Jacksonville, Illinois, Mary was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Ellen Ryan. She was the youngest of four children, preceded in death by her parents and her three older brothers: John, Robert, and James. Mary and the late Richard C. Hart were married for many years and, though they later divorced, their commitment to family remained strong, and together they raised four children: Jacqueline (Robin) Cleveland; Richard (Linda) Hart, both deceased, Kathleen (Michael) Lovekamp, and Michael (Mary) Hart. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to ten: Joshua Hart, Ellen Hart, Daniel Cleveland, Kristopher (Ashley) Lovekamp, Amanda (Phillip) Scipho, Hannah Lovekamp, William Hart, Joseph Hart, Thomas Hart, and Katherine Hart. Mary was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to nine: Desmond, Isabelle, Cole, Romulus, Rose, Liam, Lennon, Oliver, and Ronin.
Mary was the cherished matriarch of a large and loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and unconditional love. Throughout her life, Mary held many roles: daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. Professionally, she enjoyed a long and respected career as a medical transcriptionist, beginning at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville and retiring from Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Peters, Missouri.
Mary had a vibrant social life and treasured her friendships. In her younger years, she was active in a bridge club and a bowling league. She also found joy in reading, sewing, watching movies, solving puzzles, and taking walks with her beloved dog, Zoey. Every activity was made more meaningful when shared with her family.
Mary was a bright light to all who knew her. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering love will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or PAWS. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
