I offer my coldonces and prayers.I frist met mary when i was in 7th grade when i interviewed her. She came to my school to talk for careeer day. I met her again when i was college at the el paso county historical society where she did good work. She was supportive of my research of her political career. I wrote an article on her and other el paso women political pioneer in the password. In political office she was independent, asked the questions that needed to be asked and did her homework. She made history and her memory will live on.

Mary will be remembered for the achievements, deeds, episodes and circumstances that shaped her passage, but most importantly for her trail blazing life establishing the rightful place of woman in the male patriarchy she was born into. Indeed ". . . her life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in her that Nature might stand up and say to all the world `This was a woman´." Farewell dear friend - Luther Jones
