Mary Christina Hill

Mary Christina Hill, 54, of Tifton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Irwinville Primitive Baptist Church in Irwinville, Georgia, with Bro. John Hancock officiating. Interment will be private.

Christie was born on April 9, 1971, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to Charlotte Ann (Prescott) McDonald and the late John Russell Strickland Jr. She loved spending time with her family, her treasured pets, and all of her friends. She enjoyed fishing, shooting billiards, caring for her plants, and skeet shooting. She especially had a lifelong passion for music and singing, which was a great source of happiness for her and those around her. Above all else, Christie's greatest joy was her family, in whom she took immense pride and found her deepest sense of purpose.

In addition to her mother, Christie is survived by her husband, Matthew Hill; daughter Hagan Heard; stepson, Zachahry Ashlin, and his wife, Autumn; a granddaughter, Scarlett Ashlin, her father- and mother-in-law, John and Jean Hill; her sister-in-law, Alicia Hill; She is also survived by her sister, Alice Powell, and her husband, Michael; her stepbrother, Gaylon Miller; her stepmother, Shirley Strickland; and her nieces, Anna Rose Powell, Ella Powell, and Sadie Miller; and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. A host of friends also mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her father, John Russell Strickland Jr., and her stepfather, Paul Angus McDonald Jr.
