Mary Evelyn and Clarence were friends of my parents Albert (Chunky) & Sarah Schmett & myself Janet Schmett Chanley in Huntingburg, IN. We spent many times with them. She was a very special person, I learned a lot from her. In our meetings together she was so gracious and giving of herself to help others. She will be deeply missed. My family sends our sympathy.

I so admired Mary Evelyn..intelligent, eloquent, fun, and a pure joy! I enjoyed (and have missed) the times we shared together (in person, letter writing, and e-mail). Mary Evelyn served as my Advisor during my term as National President in 1994. She loved God, Family, and Kappa Delta Phi! Such a beautiful person that I was blessed to know. We have to smile as we know God gained a perfect Angel! Rest in peace dear "Sister and Friend"! I send my love.

I was so blessed to have known her for over 50 years as we shared our membership in Kappa Delta Phi. She was a true roll model with her beauty, her dignity, and love for everyone she met. My sympathy to her family that she loved so much. God has a new angel with him now. RIP Mary Evelyn love you
