Mary Patricia Hookfin

Mary Patricia Hookfin, age 69, of Kentwood, Louisiana passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. She was born on April 2, 1954 to the late Mary Nell Simmons. Tricia graduated from George Washington Carver High School and attended college at University of New Orleans. She worked as a store clerk at Barker's Department Store. Tricia was always eager to hear the word of God and it was easy to make her laugh. She was fun, loving and very social. Tricia had an agile mind and rock solid memory. She loved to play board games and bingo. Tricia was very fond of watching Wheel of Fortune, The Price Is Right and Let's Make A Deal.
Tricia leaves behind many family members to cherish her memory, her sisters, Darlerene Williams, Phillis Williams Netter, Sarah Williams Hill, Anita Williams, and Sharon D. Williams; brothers, Jerry L. Hookfin (Carrie), Wesley N. Williams (Laverne), and Lyon B. Williams (Justine); nieces and nephews, Timothy Jones, Shauntresse Hookfin, Jerry L. Hookfin, Jr., Shatonda Hookfin, Galan Bernard, Wesley N. Williams II (Michelle), Landon W. Williams, Otis B. N. Williams (Demetrius), Eugene R. Netter II; Camerian R. Abrams (Amir), Shanora P. Hill, Lyon B.W. Diaby, and Lyonetta Williams; and cousins, Rosalind Davis (Frank) of Illinois, Beverly Hayes (Ronald) of Georgia, Zelda Gardner of Illinois, John Lewis Johnson, Jr. (Paula) of Illinois, Perry Johnson (Linette) of South Carolina, Kenneth Johnson (Chastity) of Illinois, Kevin Johnson (Crystal) of Georgia, Donald Ray Hookfin (Kendolyn), Linda Hookfin Thompson (Alvin), Glenn Hookfin (Melissa), Fredrick Hookfin, Lisa Hookfin, Wilson Earl Hookfin and her aunt, Bobbie Jean Johnson a host of other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Raymond R. Watson, Jr. in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 1 PM. Visitation will begin at 12 PM. Mary will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery following the chapel service.
