Mary Elizabeth Hose

Mary Elizabeth Hose, 74, of Maugansville, MD, passed away, Monday, August 29, 2022, at the Meritus Medical Center.

Born Tuesday, October 7, 1947 in Hagerstown , MD, she was the daughter of the late Guy E. Irvin and the late Flora Marie (Miller) Irvin.

Mary graduated from Clear Spring High School in 1965. She was employed with the Washington County Board of Education, teaching braille at numerous schools throughout the county. Mary was a member of the Apostolic Church of Maryland, where she taught Sunday School and played piano. She was also the Young People's Leader and was in charge of the Christmas Program.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Alfred David Hose; daughter, Vicki A. Bartles and husband Thomas of Hagerstown, MD, son, Scott David Hose and wife Amy of Hagerstown, MD, brother,Walter D. Irvin and wife Grace, sister, Rebecca Murray and husband Duke, brother, John Irvin and wife Robin all of Clear Spring, MD, grandchildren, Tanner A. Bartles, Hannah Morgan Hose, Hayden Scott Hose and Elias David Hose.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Marie Irvin.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 1:15 pm, at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD, with Dr. Ted Fraker officiating.

Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Apostolic Church of MD 15901 Shinham Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740..
