CLINTON — Mary Lou Jordan Humphrey, 94, of 100A Wilson St., passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, at Rolling Ridge Assisted Living in Newton Grove with her family by her side, along with the wonderful staff from Rolling Ridge and 3HC Home Health and Hospice.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Seals officiating. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall and at other times at her daughter's home at 436 Timberlake Drive, Clinton.
Born in 1930 in Wilson County, Mary was the daughter of the late Juanita Saunders and Larry Elmo Jordan. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, F.W. "Pete" Humphrey. Mary was a retired legal secretary with Ted Lockerman & Andrew Jackson Law Firm.
She is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Humphrey Horne, and husband, Dwight of Clinton; her son, Michael Humphrey, and wife, Myra of Lumberton; seven grandchildren, Emily Pearson and husband Kevin, Katherine Horne, Stephen Horne and wife Lindsay, Susan Murphy and husband Bobby, Alan Humphrey and wife Lindsay, Tara Knecht and husband Phillip, and Matthew Hester and wife Kayla; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Methodist Church, 208 Sampson Street, Clinton, NC 28328.
