Mary Opaline Hunnicutt-Garcia

Mary Opaline Hunnicutt Garcia passed away from this life on November 7, 2025. She was born on March 8, 1945 in Heath, Texas to Opal and Eunice Hunnicutt. Mary graduated from Rockwall High School in 1963. After high school , Mary attended nursing school at Methodist Hospital in Dallas before moving to California After returning to Texas she worked for Treasury drug for 20 years and later worked for a psychiatry office in Addison, Texas until retirement. Mary was also a member of First Baptist Church Heath, Texas.

Mary had many interests' including embroidery, Irish and Renaissance festivals, reading about fashion, Romance and Horror books and loved to dress up on occasion. She also loved Kenneth McKeller (Scottish piper) and anything Elvis.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Thomas A. Taylor, daughter, Matha Dawn Harris and husband Stephen Paul VanHecke of Garland, Texas, her younger brother, Paul Randy Hunnicutt of Tyler and his wife Jo Carol. Grandchildren Emerald Jasmine Alba-Diaz, Amaris Savannah Strayhorn, Brianna Bashaw, Ciera Rose, Damien Daniel Garcia, Eunice Garcia, Cassandra Cervantes, Megan Jensen, Eric Lovejoy, Sean Garcia, Ruben Garcia, Marco Garcia, Brian Burgess, Bradley Burgess, Marcelline Lysette, Nicholas Chiapetta and Sam Chiapetta, great-grandchildren, Anastasia Strayhorn, Elijah Lewis, Sophie Lewis and Madison Lewis.

Mary is preceded in death by husband, Jesus Manuel Garcia, Jr. (Chuy), O.R. Hunnicutt father, mother Eunice Hunt Hunnicutt, Son Efren Luis Garcia, stepdaughters Serena Elizabet Garcia Chiapetta, Trila Luisa Garcia and brother, Byron Kent Hunnicutt.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Heath Cemetery, Heath, Texas.
