Obituary of Mary Frances Jewett
Mary was born in Des Moines, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents Warren Jewett and Dorothy Shaw Jewett, and her sister Margaret Jewett Davis. She is survived by her daughter Cybele Jewett PHD, her brother David Jewett and wife Claire, brother-in-law Bruce Davis, nieces Deborah
Lowery (Birdie), Katie Johnson (Tim), Denise Rollins (John). Nephews Josef Cox (Melissa), Bryan Cox (Jacqueline), great nieces Laura and Charlote, great nephews Warren and Jeff.
Mary graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School and received her Masters Degree in Speech and English from Western State University, she taught school in Minturn, CO and the Colorado Springs School for girls.
Mary is remembered for her art, music and writing, she loved to paint and draw, play the piano and write family history and fictional stories. Mary was a beloved resident of Sundance Nursing Home, known for playing the piano at church services and entertaining the residents and staff with her music.
She was also very involved in the arts and crafts center.
Mary will be dearly missed by her family and friends!
