ASHEVILLE – Mary Banks Jones, age 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Mary was born on November 16, 1935, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She retired from Mills Manufacturing. She attended and was an active member of Deaverview Baptist Church until it closed.
Mary was the daughter of the late Theodore R. and Noma Cassada Banks and the wife of the late James Ralph Jones, Jr., who passed away in 1998.
Surviving are her daughters, Pam McCracken, Candy Broome and her husband, Michael, and Dawn Teague and her husband, Dale; son, Eddie Jones; and grandchildren, Taylor Gwynn (Ryan), Maceon Mitchell (Colton) Jarrett Broome and Cassada Broome; great grandchildren, Thompson, Grayson, Arden, and Emmett.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, in the Chapel at West Funeral Home with Reverend Kelvin Moseley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately in West Memorial Park, Weaverville.
