Im so sad to hear of Marys passing. She was a great lady! I will remember the many family gatherings I was blessed to be part of where Mary was present. Like all her Coleman sisters, she was a rock and a pillar of the extended family. Mary will be missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to you Karen, Jim, Doug and Roz.

Very saddened to hear of Aunt Mary's passing. Even though we had not seen each other for several years, I recall Mary so clearly - and so proudly - as a marvelous aunt: interested in everything and everyone; always abreast of and well-versed in political issues and, on several occasions, involved to the point of attending national political conventions. All very impressive to a nephew who was not-easily-impressed! My brothers and I really got know Aunt Mary during the 1960s, 1970s and into the 1980s at the now famous (infamous?) 'Coleman Family Parties' - the annual or semi-annual functions (or, more accurately: major events) when the irrepressible Coleman girls (Mary being the eldest of five sisters), their spouses, and 19 cousins convened at (descended upon?) the home of one of the five families (not to be confused with the mob) to consume vast quantities of food and drink, and make an inordinate amount of noise - when Mary, with gentle determination, would somehow find an opportunity to speak to each of us, ask us how we were doing at school or, as we got older, at work, or with various sports and hobbies. And then the best but, simultaneously, intimidating part: what did I think about a certain issue, or about a specific politician, or about a recently announced policy? Thus began some of the most interesting conversations I experienced during my adolescence and young adulthood. Mary kept us on our toes! But now she's gone. Yes, truly a life a well-lived; even so, because of Mary's positive influence on so many lives, her death is felt deeply. My thoughts are with my Junke cousins - Karen, Jim, Doug, Rosslyn - and their families at this difficult time; and also with Anne Barker who has lost her eldest sister and now is the sole survivor of the extraordinary, loving, beautiful, and irrepressible Coleman girls. Sincere condolences; John Rae
