Mary "Katie" Katherine Tesmer, 77, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the Waters of New Castle. She was born March 3, 1948 to Harold and Frances (Beatty) Elliott in Chilicothe, Ohio.
Mary worked at Wal-Mart and Jerry's Supermarket. She also loved babysitting and has watched many children over the years. Mary's hobbies included knitting, crocheting and gardening. She also loved her many pets. Most of all she had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary was a fun, feisty and stubborn woman. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Those left to cherish Mary's memory are her husband, Robert Tesmer; children, Barbara Ann, Lisa Stella, Wayman, Shawn, Sarah, Ashley, Jennifer, Heather, Robie and Josh; several grandchildren, Kalin, Logan, Keeleigh, Elijah, Ava, Max, Blake, Dylan and Michael; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Eve, Jimmy, Bobby, Patty and Sarah; special nephew, Todd; several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Marvin, Lillian and Allen; father and mother-in-law.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 21, at 12:00 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Phillp Trent officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
