Mary Michele Kawasaki

Jacksonville – Mary Michele Kawasaki, 67, of Jacksonville, North Carolina passed away on September 23, 2025, at her home leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, and love. Funeral services will be held on Monday September 29 at The Church at Onslow with burial to follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Mary was born on November 15, 1957, in Onslow County, North Carolina to the late Eugene Lentz and Francis Mazzullo Lentz. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

She is survived by her son, Christopher Kawasaki (Erin) of Greenville; siblings, Michael Lentz and Eugenia "Gina" Lentz, (Son/nephew – Patrick) all of Greenville; grandchildren, Crystal Kawaski, Naomi Kawasaki, and Asher Kawasaki; and several extended family members and close friends.

Mary was a loving sister to her family and friends. Church members were her cheerleaders. She let love and gratitude shine through her volunteering and caring for children at church and her devotion to the church. She was a member of The Church at Onslow and found joy in her church family. Mary also like to craft; she crochets many blankets and gave them away. She also loved animals.

One important friend who the family wants to thank for being a housemate with Mary for many years is Donna Chappell. She was there with Mary during surgery recovery times and good times. We appreciate all the Jacksonville area friends / church members who have stood by Mary in good and bad times. She formed good friendships, too many to list. Thank you.
