Mary Kelleher Obituary

Having lived a long and blessed life, spent with family and friends, Mary passed surrounded by her children to the arms of our lord and her beloved husband Joe, on November 12, 2025.
Mary was born in Paterson NJ to Augustus and Elma Osborne where she grew up alongside her brother Ed ( Marilyn).
Growing up in Paterson, she formed lifelong friendships and was lucky to have spent summers at Lake Wallkill in Sussex, NJ. Following graduation from St. Mary's High School, Mary worked at the phone company and married the love of her life Joe in 1956. They were married for an amazing 68 years.
Joe and Mary started their family on Walnut St. in Paterson eventually moving to Wayne where they raised their family of 4. Kathy (Bob), Tim (Joan), John (Florence), and Mary Beth (Don), growing into an extended family of 9 grandchildren- Chris, Corinne (Dan), Danny (Alaina), Siobhan, Ian, Timothy, Daniel, Brian & Kaitlyn. 3 step grands, Megan, Kevin, and Jay (Carrie), and 7 great-grandchildren Janessa, Ariana, Vanessa, Lilly, Gabby, Peyton, and Kaylee.
There was nothing that brought her more joy than being surrounded by her family. She was always there with a warm hug, a smile and her offer to "stay for dinner". She loved that everyone of her kids "checked in" and called her almost daily. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved a sleepover, rainy days in the basement, playing "store", hosting an Easter egg hunt or snuggling on the couch. Grandma's love was all encompassing. Christmas at Moms was non negotiable and Thanksgiving wasn't Thanksgiving without her stuffing. Nothing made her happier than hosting holidays, spending weekends at the pool, and having her family all together.
Vermont was a special place for the Kelleher family and in the early days, Mary could be found waiting in the lodge with lunch for her crew. A lifetime of memories were made at their home where late-night dinners and big breakfasts were the norm. She loved a full house in the wintertime and could sit for hours and watch the snow fall or kids building a snowman in the front yard.
Joe and Mary traveled the world enjoying Europe, Ireland, and many island destinations, oftentimes sharing the adventures with lifelong friends. When she wasn't travelling you could count on a long lunch date with her best friend Bernie that would extend into dinner.
Her life was a true testament to her faith and values that will live forever in our hearts and she will be missed dearly.
