CROSWELL- Mary Kathleen "Katy" Konen, age 90, a resident of Croswell passed away peacefully at her home on the evening of February 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Katy was born on December 23, 1934 in Peck, a daughter of the late Peter and Erva (Grimes) Carter. She married Joseph A. "Joe" Konen on April 23, 1954 in Mt. Clemens. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2016.
Katy was an accomplished pianist, golfer and avid card player. She was instrumental in managing the family farm, especially the trotting horse operation (Michigan Harness Horsemen and the US Trotting Association).
She is survived by her three daughters, Doreen Konen-Reynolds of Royal Oak, Cheryl (Loren) Clarkson of Croswell and Becky (David) Jaglois of Royal Oak; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Catherine Carter.
Katy was preceded in death by her two brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Carter and Peter and Donna Carter.
Visitation will be from 2-6 P.M. on Tuesday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Croswell. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home, with visiting from 10-11 A.M. on Wednesday morning. Fr. Donald J. Eppenbrock, from the Ave Maria Parish-St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington will officiate.
A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the St. Denis Parish Center in Lexington. Interment and committal services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday afternoon at the Elk Township Cemetery in Peck. Pallbearers will be, Christopher Reynolds, Joseph Clarkson, DJ Jaglois, Brian Wilkinson, Joshua Owings and Mark Layer.

I loved this picture I snapped of the two of you at Caitlyn's wedding in August. Your mom looked so vibrant.
May she and your father Joe be reunited in God's kingdom.
You were all a tremendous support to her over these many years. Prayers for peace, love, and comfort as you celebrate her life and the legacy of many family members she and your father have left behind.
