Mary Kinnaman Lambert

Mary Kinnaman Lambert, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Mrs. Bush’s

Personal Care Home in Kunkletown, PA. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62

years, George W. Lambert, in 2011.

Born December 15, 1928 at Rosencrans Hospital, East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the

late Edgar P. D. Kinnaman and Emily Hattie (Biesecker) Kinnaman and was a lifelong resident

of Monroe County.

Mary was a 1947 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School. After graduation she began

working for Bell Telephone as an operator. She took time off to raise her family and returned

later to work for AT&T, retiring with 25 total years of service, working in the Stroudsburg,

Allentown, Washington (NJ) and Morristown (NJ) offices. She also worked part time at the Van

Horn Answering Service and weekends at the switchboard for General Hospital (now Pocono

Hospital)

Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, supporting her

children in their pursuits, planting and tending to her flowers, enjoying a good book or

crossword, and in retirement, traveling with her husband.

She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, ESASD Fifty plus Club, and the Jacob Stroud

Chapter DAR.

Mary will be dearly missed by her children and all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Mary are her three children; Matthew of Bartonsville, Mark and wife Theresa of

Bartonsville, daughter Melissa of Stroud Township; two grandchildren, Michael Schild of

Allentown, Tracy Youngberg of Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her three siblings, Joseph W.

Kinnaman, Elizabeth (Betty) J. Kunkle and John (Jack) F. Kinnaman.

Her family would like to thank the dedicated and exceptional staff at Mrs. Bush’s Personal Care

Home and St. Luke’s Hospice.

A graveside service for Mary and George will be announced at a later date.
