Mrs. Mary Evelyn Long Lamkin, 84, of Grenada, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at her son's residence. She was born July 5, 1941, in Calhoun County to Rev. Woodrow Wilson Long and Pansy Ramsey Long.

A devoted homemaker, Mary truly embodied the Proverbs 31 woman-always seeking ways to enrich the lives of those around her. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she was active in the JOY Sunday School Class. A remarkable cook, Mary found joy in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. While she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her relationship with Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of Christian faith and service, having now entered her heavenly reward.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 16, 2025 at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service with Rev. J. Barry Worrell and Rev. Mark Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Oddfellows Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time Thursday at McKibben and Guinn.

Survivors include a son, Dwayne Lamkin(Martha) of Grenada; sister, Lynda Greene(Davis) of Tupelo; brothers, William Long(Joyce) and Tim Long(Pam) of Mantachie; grandchildren, Tyler Lamkin(Sarah), Hunter Dickson, Emily Gowen(Gray), Jacob Dickson(Sydnie) and Conner Dickson; and one great-granddaughter, Rylee Dickson.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, John Lamkin; daughter, Jennifer Dickson; sisters, Martha Lucius and Virginia Langford and a brother, Charles Long.

Ty Anderson, Conner Dickson, Hunter Dickson, Jacob Dickson, Gray Gowen and Tyler Lamkin will honor Mary by serving as pallbearers.
