Mary Ann Lanahan Wright

Mary Lanahan Wright, age 77, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on March 26, 2026. She was born on September 30, 1948, in Toledo Ohio to Elwood and Mary Wolff.

Mary was a compassionate and devoted woman whose faith in Christ shaped every aspect of her life. A dedicated worshiper, she found great joy in her church communities at The Worship Barn and The Church in Toledo. Her unwavering devotion to her faith was evident in her servant's heart and the love she extended to everyone she encountered.

Mary never met a stranger. She could strike up a conversation in any setting and had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued. Known for her unique sense of humor and her love of a good story, she delighted in sharing life lessons and words of wisdom, especially with her sons and family.

Cooking was one of Mary's greatest joys. She was often the one preparing main dishes for gatherings and church functions, always eager to try new recipes and feed those she loved. She also had a remarkable talent for sewing, spending many years creating beautiful quilts for others and readily repairing clothing whenever someone needed it. Her hands were rarely still as she continually found ways to serve others.

Mary was deeply involved in her community, volunteering at social functions, assisting at elections, and stepping forward whenever needed. Caring for others was not just something she did. It was who she was.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Patrick Lanahan and David Lanahan; her cherished daughter-in-law, Joy Lanahan; her beloved grandchildren, Blain Lanahan, Claire Lanahan, and Olivia Lanahan; and her great-granddaughter, Avril Lanahan. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Nancy and Kenny Moore, Jim and Vicki Wolff, Bob and Kathy Wolff, Donna and Larry Sebring, and Bill and Mary Wolff, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Edward Wright, son Christopher Lanahan, parents Elwood and Mary Wolff, sisters Kathy Jankowski, Susan Cunningham, and Rosemary Smith.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial at Toledo Memorial Park will follow for her immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local charity of the donor's choice, reflecting Mary's lifelong dedication to caring for others.
