Mary J. Larson, 82, of Glyndon, MN, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Eventide on 8th, Moorhead, MN. Mary was born in Detroit Lakes, MN, on August 11, 1942, to George and Alice (Carter) Keeping. She grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes through 8th grade before moving to Hawley, MN, where she graduated from high school. Mary married Lowell Larson on August 17, 1962. Together they made their home in Glyndon and started a family. Over the years, she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in Fargo, Moorhead, Glyndon, Downer and Dilworth. Mary enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting and stamp collecting. She also enjoyed staying active in the community, helped with her sister’s rodeo circuit for many years, and always looked forward to being with her friends in the Glyndon Homemakers club. She also took pride in her title as “Mother Mary” during the time the Stablemates spent at the Clay County Fair and 4H camp. Most of all, however, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren, never missing a Rebel game or activity. She will be dearly missed.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Candace (Bruce) Rosenfeldt, and Kami (Tim) McClaflin; Grandchildren, Nicole and Hunter (Kate) Rosenfeldt, Kyla Walker, Kelsi (Lance) Homan and Kaitlyn McClaflin, Great-Grandchildren, Connor, Madysen and Jaxton Walker, Chet and Lionel Rosenfeldt; siblings: Mike (Paula) Keeping, Peggy (Doug) Freed, Diana (Doug) Giesinger, Tom (Suzanne) Keeping, Andrea (Richard) Neisius; sister-in-law Phyllis Sagen.

She was preceded in death by husband Lowell; parents George and Alice Keeping; brothers Jim and George Keeping; sisters Joan Harvala and Marcia Neisius.

Visitation: Thursday, March 13, from 5-7 PM with a prayer service beginning at 7:00PM at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley, MN.

Funeral: Friday, March 14, at 11AM at Glyndon Lutheran Church in Glyndon, MN
