Mary Larson

Mary Larson of Benton Harbor passed away Mon., Feb. 7 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital. Mary’s life began Apr. 22, 1919 in Rockford, IL. She moved with her parents Louis & Harriett Dahlstrom and 9 siblings to Benton Harbor, living at the Mary’s City of David Colony. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice in memory of Mary. Mary had a varied work life; having worked at Leath Nowlen Furniture, A&P Food Stores, and Jewel Grocery. She retired from The Herald Palladium after 25yrs. of service at age 70. She didn’t like retirement so she got a paper route and worked another 5 yrs. Mary loved her family and enjoyed the many family and extended family picnics at Riverview Park. She loved to go dancing with the love of her life, John, who passed away in 1962. She also loved cooking, crocheting, and sewing for her family. She especially loved QVC. Mary is survived by her children, John (Janet) Larson, Karen Reeves, Beverly (Bill) Harman and Marybeth (Brian) Culverhouse; grandchildren, Michelle (Steve) Hadaway, Sean (Sarah) Larson, Kevin (Kelly) Larson , Denise (Chris) Hudson, Julie (Jack) Holbert, John (Chris) Harman, Annie (David) Kruise, Albert (Heather) Culverhouse, 17 great grandchildren and her sister Rachael Boswell A family celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date.
