Mary Ellen Lipely

Mary Ellen Lipely, age 91, born on December 5, 1933, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. She was a long time resident of Alliance, OH before moving to Biloxi, MS 10 years ago.

Mary Ellen was a former deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Alliance and attended Westminster Presbyterian Church of Gulfport, MS. She loved being a wife and mother and liked to travel. Spending time with her family was everything to her.

Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her husband H. Bruce Lipely; her son, Randy Lipely; her parents, Russell J. and Mary C. Clarke; her siblings, Ruth Ann Aufrance, Frances Swain and William Clarke; and her son-in-law, Dick Shonk.

Survivors include her loving children, Sherry Shonk of Biloxi, Debby Lipely of Gulfport, Gary (Kim) Lipely of Biloxi and Larry (Jeanne) Lipely of Biloxi; and her daughter-in-law, Laurie Lipely of Alliance, OH. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Wendy (Mike) Lally of Biloxi, Brad Shonk of Biloxi, Rebecca (Shawn) O'Neill of Alliance, Brenden (Allison) Lipely of Canton, OH, Samantha Lipely of Canton, OH, Sarah (Brandon) Webb of Elm City, NC, Jessica Draper of Biloxi and Joshua (Allison) Draper of Canton, OH; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church Gulfport on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Friends may visit one hour prior.

Local funeral services will be held in the Spring and interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park next to her husband Bruce.
