Mary (Edwards) Little, 100, of Rio Verde, Arizona passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Omaha, Illinois on August 13, 1925, the daughter of Jesse Floyd and Pearl (Pearce) Edwards. She graduated from Norris City Township High School in 1943. During World War II, she was proud to have worked on the manufacture of PF-47 Thunderbolts.

Mary obtained her nursing degree from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Evansville, Indiana in 1947, and entered the Army Nurses Corp in 1948 with an honorable discharge in 1954. After marrying James D. Little, Mary worked at Columbus (Ohio) State Hospital for more than five years. After the family moved to New York, she obtained a B.S. in nursing education from Columbia University and worked and taught at a psychiatric facility there.

She was an accomplished genealogist, spending fifty years researching family records, and serving in several volunteer capacities for various genealogy associations. She loved to travel for research and pleasure, often with her daughters, and fulfilled a life-long dream when she took up horseback riding at 50.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Nancy Little of New York, NY and Susan Little of San Francisco, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Virginia Peyton and Murle Edwards.
