Catherine Logan passed away at home May 6, 2025, at home with her loving son and caretaker at her side.
The third of seven children, Catherine was born February 12, 1938, in Worland, Wyoming to Glen and Lillian May (Russell) Brubaker.
Her family moved to Rawlins, Wyoming when she was young. She graduated from Rawlins High School in 1956. On June 10,1956 in Oklahoma, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Logan. They lived at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, while her husband was stationed in the Army there. From there they moved around briefly with his job as a seismic driller before they ended up in Wamsutter, Wyoming operating a Rawlins branch of the Ferguson’s Mercantile up until the early 1970s. They then opened the Wamsutter Café and ran it until 1978.
Catherine belonged to the Wamsutter Homemakers Club and loved to craft along with her family. She loved all her family very much and her many friends who she considered extended family. She also loved history and was always curious and amazed at the world around her. She had a wonderful sense of humor.
After they closed the Wamsutter Café they moved to Patrick Draw, Wyoming (I-80, MP 147) where Bob was the maintenance foreman and she contracted with the Wyoming Highway Department as caretake of the Bitter Creek Rest Areas for about 30 years.
Catherine is survived by her children Robert Patrick Logan, who was also her caregiver, of Rawlins and Jeanneane (Steve) Askey of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Granddaughter Megan Logan and her son Brycen of Sahiarita, Arizona. Siblings Earl (Odilia) Brubaker of Wisconsin, Jimmie (Tina) Brubaker of Colorado, Susan Rand of Texas, and sister-in-law JoAnne Brubaker of Colorado. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews scattered around the states and cousins in Worland, Ten Sleep, and Kaycee, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Barbara JoAnne Logan, sister Margy Brubaker Enslin Hodge, brother Russell Brubaker, brother Harry Brubaker and his wife Gaylene, brother-in law Curtis Rand. Niece Lynette Rand Webb, brother-in-law William Logan and his wife Chizue.
A Rosary will be officiated by Fr. Sam Hayes at 3:00 PM, Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Casada Funeral Home & Crematory, 702 West Walnut Street, Rawlins, Wyoming. She did not wish to have a funeral service.
