Mary Lou Wenzel of Dorr (formerly Wayland, Midland, and Tawas), wife of the late Walter Wenzel, passed away on October 25 at the age of 91.
She attended Central Michigan University, where she met Walt Wenzel. They were married in 1955. She worked alongside her husband at the family’s business, Wenzel Hardware in Wayland, for several years.
She is survived by daughter Leanna (Jim) Rollins and Carol (Wenzel) Faust, whom she considered her daughter, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Walter R. Wenzel; her son, Robert A. Wenzel; her parents, Charles and Vera Blake; and her siblings, Betty May Tomek and Weldon (Sonny) Blake.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a graveside memorial in Midland is planned. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Wenzel may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
