Mary Lou Williams, 90 of Carmel, IN, formerly of Sellersburg, IN, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel Hospital. Mary Lou was born November 27, 1933 in Louisville, KY to the late Owen and Alna Bradley.
Mary Lou was a Kentucky Colonel and had a gratifying career working in Human Resources Administration for Jaggers Equipment Co., Executive Secretary for the Chairman/President of Porter Paints and Secretary to the President/Chairman of the Board for Armor Elevator Company. She also enjoyed helping run the 4W tavern in Louisville with her late husband Robert Williams in the mid 1980’s. Mary Lou was a stickler for detail and being thorough and enjoyed volunteering with AARP assisting seniors preparing and filing their taxes.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Walker Williams. She is survived by her children, Sharon Schorr (husband, Dan), Gregory Detenber (wife, Tammy), Rachel Cole (husband, Steve) and Robert “Wade” Williams; grandchildren, Julie L. Schorr, Mackenzie T. Clark (husband, Ryan), Ryan J. Cole (wife, Sarajane), Mallory G. Cole and Robert Williams, Jr.
A “celebration of life” will be held Saturday, July 13th from 1:30-3:00 with prayer and reflection from 3:00–3:30 at Covered Bridge Golf Community Clubhouse, 12510 Covered Bridge Road, Sellersburg, IN, 47172. All friends and family are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Hospital, Salvation Army or the American Red Cross.
