Mary Luberti, age 100, of Novi, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 22, 1925, in Northern Ireland, Mary was the eldest of five children of the late James and Agnes McGinnity. She was preceded in death by her late siblings James McGinnity, Evie Donaldson, Gene McGinnity and Colleen Melargni.
Mary carried her Irish spirit and faith throughout her life. She was devoted to her family, who were the center of her world. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Luberti, and is survived by her loving children Sheila Lenze (late Ray), Joann Cassar (Danny), Patty Sells (Tom Castellani), Maureen Galdes (John Basista), and Caroline Christenson (Tom).
Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren: Sandy (Jerry) and Ted Sells (Renee); Kimberly Maynard (Jeremy) and Daniel Cassar (Melissa); Brian (Abby), Laura, and Michael Lenze; Megan Luther (Ben) and Roy Galdes; Conor Christenson and Melissa Dixon (Zack).
She also cherished her role as great-grandmother to Jerry and Katelyn Strawbridge; Gianna, Dominic, Mark, Gabriel, Faustina, and Anthony Luther; Ronan and Zoë Lenze; Amelia and Abigail Cassar; Bella Galdes; and Zander and Warren Dixon.
She is also survived by her closest and dearest friend Lois.
Mary's Irish spirit shone through with her gentle humor, and kind heart that touched all who knew her. Mary had love for simple pleasures walking, cooking and tending her garden. With her remarkable green thumb and nurturing spirit, she cultivated beauty not only in her garden but in the lives of those around her. Her warmth, patience, and Irish wisdom "May the flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day" will be fondly remembered.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Mary's life will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Novi, MI on Thursday, November 6, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her compassion, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cure CMD (Congential Muscular Dystrophy) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
