Beloved Wife, Mother, and Friend
Mary Turcan Majewski, a bright and beautiful soul, passed away May 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, John, and a loving mother and best friend to her daughter, Lauren, who was truly the light of her life.
Mary lived with a free spirit and a heart full of love. She found joy in life's simple moments — especially in photographing the flowers she adored, a reflection of the vibrant and colorful spirit she carried with her every day. A dedicated dental assistant for over 40 years, Mary cared deeply for those around her and brought kindness and warmth to everyone she met. The world is smiling brighter because of Mary.
Aruba held a special place in Mary's heart. It was not only where she spent her honeymoon, but also a favorite destination she loved to visit with her family, soaking in the sun, sand and cherished memories.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William Turcan and Mary Baloh Turcan; and beloved brothers, William Turcan and Jacob Turcan.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, John Majewski; and daughter, Lauren Majewski; her sisters-in-law: Deanna Turcan and Rita Turcan; nephew, William Turcan (Karen); niece, Tracey Bonafide (Steve); and godchild, Jenna Bonafide and her sister, Justine Bonafide. In addition, she was a loving godmother to several others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, especially John and Lauren, whose bond with Mary was immeasurable.
Mary was a truly wonderful person — gentle, vibrant and full of life. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever bloom in the lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cancer Wellness Center of NEPA.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Ltd., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, by the Rev. David Cappelloni. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

John and Lauren, so sorry to hear about Mary Theresa. She grew up next door to my family, we played together as children. I think I was the only one to still call her Mary Theresa! RIP my friend.
