Mary Espino Manzanedo passed away peacefully on Saturday June 24, 2017 at the age of 90. She was born on April 13, 1927, and she grew up in Dos Palos, California. On January 13, 1951, she married the love of her life, Robert Delcid Manzanedo, and settled down with him in Los Baños with the later addition of her family of three children, Terri, Robert and Elena Manzanedo.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a member of the YLI Institute. She also volunteered as a 4-H Sewing leader, assisted in organizing and making the Pop Warner cheerleaders uniforms for the premiere team, and served as a chaperone.
She was a very active chaperone with the Los Baños High school marching band when traveling with her two youngest children as they participated. She also served as a Reading tutor at Henry Miller Elementary as a volunteer and loved helping students read.
She was heavily involved in her children's and grandchildren's various activities including tee ball, softball and school presentations. She was affectionately known to all as "Wela" and cheered everyone on.
She is survived by her children Terri, Robert and Elena Manzanedo. She also has five grandchildren, Stacey and her husband Eliberto Flores, Kyle and Blake Ketcher and his wife Veronica and Tess Pryor and Wesley Manzanedo. She also loved and enjoyed her great grandchildren which include Serena, Brianna, Josalyn and Eliberto Flores and LeeAnne Wright.
Visitation will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Los Baños on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Los Baños Cemetery.
Services are being held under the direction of Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home, Fresno, CA.
