EATON -- Mary E. Miller, 92, of Eaton, Ohio and formerly Greenville, Ohio, died Monday, May 30, 2022, at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Eaton. She was born on June 7, 1929, in Greenville, Ohio, daughter of the late Opal Ernest and Charlotte "Lottie" (Howard) Arnett. Mary was a 1949 graduate of Greenville High School, received her teaching credential from Cedarville College and her Bachelor of Science degree from Central State University. She began her teaching career at Shawnee Elementary in Xenia, Ohio where she taught the 6th grade for many years and retired in 1986 from North School in Greenville. She loved to read and spend time with her family and friends. Mary attended the Fairhaven Community Church near Camden.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Robert W. Miller in 1986; brothers, Homer, Lloyd, Richard, Robert, John and Jim Arnett and a step-great granddaughter, Carrie McFee.
Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Ann and Dan Ward; grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Byers and Elizabeth (Chad) Parks; great granddaughters, Emma Parks and Isabelle Byers; step great grandson, Kyle Parks; sister, Shirley Caulley; two nephews and one niece.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2022, at Fairhaven Community Church, 6585 Israel Somers Rd, Camden, OH 45311 with Dr. Rev. Richard F. Studebaker officiating. Inurnment will be held in Brock Cemetery, York Township, Darke County, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home in Eaton.
