Mary Minto Obituary

Published by Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home on Oct. 4, 2020.
Mary Jean (Soules) Minto, 66, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2020. Born July 25, 1954 in Middletown, NY to James and Evelyn (Stewart) Soules, known as Jeannie to her family, she learned early to love the written word and could most often be found with her nose in a book. This love of literature led her to serve as a teacher and professor at both Cairn University (formerly Philadelphia Biblical University/Philadelphia College of Bible) in Langhorne and Bucks County Community College in both Newtown and Bristol for 30 years, where she touched the lives of thousands of students. She was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn, with whom she is now sharing a long overdue laugh and hug. She is survived by her father, James E. Soules, 94, sister Sue Chindano, and brother James Soules, in addition to her children, Beth Boe, (husband Kevin Boe), and Chip Minto, (wife Lacy Fields). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kara (husband Joshua Smith), Benjamin, Christian, Cherry, Gwen, Sofi, Sean and Owen, as well as two great grandchildren: Aubrey and Cameron and a great-grand-puppy, Francois. Family and friends are invited to Jeannie's visitation on Thursday, October 8 from 6-8pm at Grace Point Church: 592 Washington Crossing Rd. Newtown, PA, and again on Friday, October 9 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM followed by her Memorial Service at 12:30 PM, also at Grace Point. Interment will follow the service at Newtown Cemetery.

Dear Jean, I miss you dreadfully but am glad you are out of pain. No more cancer, no more arthritis. Thank you for all your help and encouragement, your sense of the absurd, and all the book recommendations!

Jean was a great person, and came from Great People. God Bless her Dad, veteran hero, her daughter Beth who exemplified a daughters love for her mother, at her side for support throughout the hardest of times. We all prayed daily for her, but the Lord had need for another Angel above. We may have lost her presence here on earth, but we did not lose an Angel she is still and will always be with us by her teachings of compassion and love for All. Amen

I am saddened to hear of Jean's passing. Jean was one of my favorite instructors at Bucks County Community College. Her class had a very positive impact on my life.

Dearest Jeannie, We will miss you terribly and love you forever. Nothing about our family will ever be the same again. We rejoice that you are with your Lord and Savior and "Miss Evelyn". We will see you again! Until then......Love, Susie, Jimmy and Dad
