Mary Murphree

Mary E. Murphree, age 88, of Concord, California, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and dear friends.

Mary was born on September 26, 1937, in San Francisco, California. She attended Mount Diablo High School in 1955 and later continued her education at Diablo Valley College.

She was married to Jay Murphree on April 7th,1956, with whom she shared many cherished years and built a loving family together.

Mary worked in accounting throughout her career and was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. Outside of work, she found great joy in spending time with her large family and especially loved playing Mahjong.

She is lovingly survived by her sons, Matthew Murphree and Christopher Murphree; her grandchildren, Tobias Murphree and Tessa Murphree; and her daughter-in-law, Lorette Murphree. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Bergum and Carole Bergum, and her brothers, Sonny Bergum, David Bergum, and Bobby Bergum.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mary's Celebration of Life, which will be held at Ouimet Brothers Funeral Home in Concord on May 30, 2026.
