Mary Murphy Obituary
Mary Claire Murphy, a woman of quiet courage, immense character, and a boundless spirit of adventure, completed her remarkable journey on earth on July 22, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Mary lived a life far ahead of her time. She forged a path for countless others in an era of change and was a true force for progress. For everyone who had the good fortune to know her, she modeled and encouraged kindness and dignity for all people. Mary never met a stranger. As an intrepid traveler, she embraced new cultures and gathered friends and stories from her global journeys, inspiring her family with her curiosity and zest for life.
Mary’s legacy of love and strength lives on through her family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Maurice and Mary Ann Murphy; devoted sister to Patrick (Rita) Murphy, Sue Murphy, Tim Murphy, and the late Tom Murphy, Dan (Marlene) Murphy, and Catherine Murphy Miller; and was an adored aunt whose wisdom and amazing life stories will be treasured by her many nieces and nephews. She will be profoundly missed by family, friends, and all the lives she touched.
Visitation will be held at the Church of the Resurrection, 1619 California Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237 on Tuesday, July 29 from 10 AM until time of Mass at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Church of the Resurrection.
