Mary Elizabeth "Maribeth" Nagy (nee Gaspard) , aged 75, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2025. She was born on September 7, 1950, in Springfield, IL, to her late parents, Robert and Mary Alice Gaspard. Maribeth was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her life carried a quiet radiance, grounded in generosity and devotion. She met everyone with kindness and steadiness, always ready to help. She was deeply rooted in her parish community and found purpose in service, especially through fair trade and local outreach efforts. Maribeth's joyful passions added color to her life and to ours. Broadway was her electric spark, and she loved sharing that magic with others. A Northwestern University graduate of 1972, Maribeth carried her trademark thoughtfulness and work ethic into her professional life. Maribeth is preceded in death by her sisters Debra Gaspard, Nancy Crawford, and Theresa Rister. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joseph Nagy; her children, Nicholas (Pam) Nagy and Megan (Justin) Delawder; her cherished grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathan, Christopher, Morgan, and Jack; her brothers, William Gaspard, James Gaspard, and Timothy (Pam) Gaspard; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her deeply. Visitation Friday, November 14th, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St., in Oak Lawn. Funeral Mass Saturday November 15th, 10:15 am from Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home to St. Linus Church for Mass at 11:00 am. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Maribeth's legacy rests in the countless lives she lifted, the steady kindness she shared, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
