Mary Norris

With profound sadness, we share the news of our Mom's passing on November 10, 2025.

A thoughtful, compassionate, and generous spirit who always put her family first, she will be deeply missed.

Born in the 1940s, Mary grew up with 4 siblings on a family farm in Flemington, NJ. A calling to serve those in need led to a lifelong passion for nursing. She spent most of her 60-year career as a pediatric nurse at Sacramento's UC Davis Med Center, making lifelong friends amongst patients, their families, and coworkers.

Mary met her beloved husband of 48 years, Gregory Norris, in the mid-70's and they raised their family in Sacramento. Her kids and grandkids were her absolute pride and joy. Mary cherished her role as "GranMary" and relished doting on her 4 grandkids.

Mary was welcomed into heaven by her soulmate Greg; her parents, Stanley and Evelyn Bartles; and her brother, James. She is survived by her 2 children, Matthew Norris (Megan) and Jennifer Elam (Aaron); grandchildren, Landon, Coral, Madison and Logan; and siblings, John (Anita), Richard (Carla) and Judith (George); and sister-in-law, Genny (James).

A memorial service will be held January 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Parish, followed by a gathering in their Garden Room.
