Mary O’Neal Obituary
Mary Ann O'Neal, age 91, a lifetime resident of Crewe, VA died January 1, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Leander S. "Lanny" O'Neal, and her sons Leander S. "Andy" O'Neal Jr., (Cynthia), and Spencer Talton O'Neal (Arlene), both of Amelia, and her grandson Talton Warren O'Neal. She was predeceased by her parents Thelma Virginia Guill Brightwell and Thomas Spencer Brightwell. Mary was a bookkeeper for Amelia telephone corporation for 23 years, and a substitute rural mail carrier for a few years and a registered nurse in obstetrics in Southside community Hospital for 18 years.
She was lifetime member and served as an elder of the Pryor Memorial Presbyterian Church in Crewe, VA. A church service will be held on Monday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Amelia Presbyterian Church, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pryor Memorial Presbyterian Church 115 E. Tennessee Ave. Crewe, VA 23930.
