Mary “Nana” Ragsdale, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, at her residence in Portland, Tennessee. Born on December 10, 1946, in Nashville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Fisher Sr. and Nellie Crews Fisher.
Mary was known for her deep love for her family, which was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her cherished son, Kevin Ragsdale and his wife Terrie; her loving daughter Patty Hardin and her husband Tim; and her devoted daughter Lori Choate. She was a proud grandmother lovingly known as “Nana” to Nick Ragsdale, Katie Ragsdale, Jonathan Ragsdale, Lauren Faro and her husband Stephen, John Stewart, Annie Gober and her husband Dylan. Additionally, Mary was a treasured great-grandmother to Logan Arnold, Kyra Sanders, June Faro, and Austin Gober, and to Bonnie Gober.
She is also survived by her dear sisters-in-law, "Rusty" Fisher, Ruby Fisher, and Anita Hudson, along with numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Mary will be remembered not only for her loving nature but also for the companionship of her beloved pet, DeeDee.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Buddy" Ragsdale, her brother Jim Fisher, and her brother Tooter Fisher. The legacy she leaves behind is one filled with love and devotion, marking her impact on the lives of those she touched.
A visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home located at 202 East Main St, Gallatin, TN, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM. with her son, Kevin Ragsdale, officiating. After the service, she will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery, located in Portland, TN. Following the interment, the family invites you to join them for a meal and fellowship at Nana’s home, as we celebrate her beautiful life and the many memories she blessed us with.
Mary Ragsdale's memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends as a reminder of the love she shared and the bonds she created throughout her life. She will be deeply missed.
