Camden, South Carolina - Funeral services for Mary Lee Robertson Branham Rainwater will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, 1112 Fair Street, Camden. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. A private burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park will follow the service.
Born in Bishopville, Mary graduated from Central High School in Lee County.
She worked at The A&P starting as a Cashier in Camden, SC and eventually advanced to a store Bookkeeper position in Charlotte, NC, where she ultimately retired after 30 years of service. After her retirement, she enjoyed maintaining her home and garden with her husband, Charlie. She had an incredible love for birds. She raised a number of cockatiels and an African Grey, Honey, who was extraordinarily special to her.
Mary, the daughter of the late Samuel Lee and Mary Etta Smith Robertson, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Mary is survived by her daughter, Pam Jackson (Phil) of Camden; grandchildren, Rebecca Dillard (Brock), Wes Jackson (Allison), and Elizabeth Baker (Jay); great-grandchildren, Evie, Reisey, Harris, Heath, and Peyton; brother, Wayne Robertson of Charlotte, NC.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Charles Overton Rainwater; son, Jack Branham; daughter, Debbie Branham; sister, Dorothy Ann Robertson Collins; and sister-in-law, Barbara Robertson.
