Mary Reid Obituary
Mary Jane Reid, 82, born June 29, 1943, in Ocala, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. Mary Jane was a native of Dunnellon, a 1961 graduate of Dunnellon High School. She was a longtime member of the Primitive Church of Jesus Christ in Inglis. She worked for Marion County schools, Dunnellon High School for many years, retiring in 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Clayton (Eddie) Reid, her parents Robert D and Hannah Roof, and her brothers Robert Dale Roof Jr and Carl G Roof Sr.
She is survived by her daughters Paula and her husband Greg Rushton, and Kara Hewett both of Dunnellon. A brother Chet Roof (Julie) of Dunnellon and a sister Gwen Roof of Inglis. She has 4 grandchildren, Trey Shaw, Sam Shaw, Aubrey Hewett, Sydney Hewett and one great-grandchild Avery.
Funeral services for Mrs. Reid were held Tuesday, July 22, at Roberts Funeral Home, 19939 E Pennsylvania Ave., Dunnellon. Interment followed in the Hawthorne Cemetery, Inglis.
