Mary Jo Rhymers, a true sweetheart, left us on October 25, 2025, after bravely battling cancer.

Born on March 19, 1946, in Hailey, Idaho, she carried a spirit of grace and warmth that touched everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

A nurturing mother to Wayne Ford (Cindy), Marci Ford, Donald Ford, and Amanda Jo Rhymers. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Amber (Adam), Mitch, Ren, and Nathan, and her great-grandchildren, Aden and Avia, who will always remember the love she poured into their lives. She also leaves behind cherished siblings, Donna Roark, John K. Myers (Yvette), Dara Sue Elkins, and Patricia Jesse (Mark), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Known for her admiration for dancing and traveling, Mary spent countless joyful hours spending time with her best friends, Margaret, Vicki, her daughter Amanda, the Tuesday night line dance crew, and the girls at music bingo. These moments weren't just pastimes; they were part of the essence that made her who she was; fun, loving, and always up for adventure.

We are immensely grateful for the warmth and joy she shared throughout her life. Mary embodied what it means to be a caring and generous person, leaving behind footprints of kindness that will linger in the hearts of all who knew her. Her generosity extended beyond her circle of friends and family, as she held a special place in her heart for her favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

While she is dancing into heaven and the stars above, we will forever hold her memory dear.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the many nurses and staff at Norton's (Suburban) Women and Children's Hospital for their unwavering support and end of life care.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 JuneauDrive, Louisville, KY 40243).

Visitation will also be from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Epiphany Catholic Church (914 Old Harrods Creek Rd, Louisville, KY 40223) with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington, Kentucky.
