Aunt Mary frequently brought her children Susie and Jack, to visit our children Jana and Mark when all were very young. The children always enjoyed each other. After playing, both mothers prepared something to eat and drink for them. I'm not sure who had the best time...Mary and Rose Ann (Jack's sister) or the children. Jack and I were usually at work during these times, but we have numerous photographs of remembrance of these times. After retirement, we parents visited often, had dinner frequently and even took a vacation together in South Carolina. After Rose Ann went to heaven some ten years ago, Mary and I have had numerous long lasting telephone calls since I live in Arizona. I miss you sweet Mary. Love, Dick.

Aunt Mary, thank you for all the memories and of an example of a life well lived. For all the special treats and fun times for Mark and I as children and for my children. You always were so nurturing and were the one with the babies. You loved children.
You modeled how to have a Christ centered family life at home and how to live in "community " with your neighbors and friends and pulled everyone in with a story pertaining to them. I will miss you.. love, Jana

Mary...my heart is hurting so bad hearing about your passing. I had the pleasure of caring for you and Jack the last few years..you both will leave an everlasting footprint on my heart. We shared so many happy stories together. I know you were so proud of your grandchildren and what they did as we looked at their pictures on your wall. You were so special Mary..I may have only known you for a few years but it feels like a life time. Rest easy my friend

Look what I got, just because I fell in love with Mary´s son!!!!
Mary Rider was the perfect mother in law. She always made me feel like I was her own. She shared her wisdom and knowledge of the Bible to help direct my life. Not always because I asked for it, but because I needed it. She wanted Steve and I to have a loving marriage just like hers. And she was determined to help us become that couple. She was the cheerleader in everyone´s lives and wanted the best for them.
When my mother died I told her it was time to step up her game, jokingly, but she sure did!!! I never felt more love and compassion from a woman in my life,
Stories
She loved telling us her stories about her life in Osgood, and some of the landmarks there. She made sure when Hoosiers came out that everyone knew she was at that Milan game!!! She remembered the cheers, and songs from her childhood and shared them with bright eyes with her grandchildren. And of course there was a story to go along with each of them!!!
Pacers
She and my daughter, Kristen, loved their Pacers together. They would talk after the games about the boys!!! What joy it brought to Kristen´s heart as they talked and bonded over that!!! The joy on Mary´s face as she talked about her Pacers was so childlike and fun!!! We loved it and it will be missed.
Love
Mary Rider, thank you for allowing me to join your family and become your favorite Daughter in law. It will always be one of the biggest blessing God has given me!!! See you soon!!!

Mary Rider Obituary
Mary Rider never knew a stranger. A woman who lived a life worthy of a screenplay, Mary loved hearing and sharing life stories, and it was through these stories that she built lasting bonds with others. "Now, did I tell you?" Was Mary's go-... Read Mary Rider's Obituary
