Mary Rigby Obituary
Mary “Louise” Worthen Rigby, born October 5, 1938, to Douglas C. Worthen and Myrtle Davis Worthen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity. She was the cherished wife of Richard Fay Rigby, who preceded her in death. Together, they raised a beautiful family of seven children—five daughters and two sons—who carry forward her spirit and values.
Louise was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in arts and crafts, dedicating countless hours to creating beautiful pieces that she lovingly gifted to family and friends. Her incredible jewelry creations were not just beautiful; they were expressions of her kind and thoughtful nature. Louise had a unique ability to bless the lives of those around her with her handmade gifts, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
In addition to her creative pursuits, Louise cherished the time spent square dancing with her husband, a joyful activity that brought them closer together. They shared a love for camping and found great happiness in their second home in Quartzite, where they formed lasting friendships and embraced the warmth of the community.
As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Louise exemplified devotion and service, always willing to lend a helping hand. She believed that families can be together forever, a guiding principle that shaped her life and inspired those around her. Her warm heart and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by her family and community.
Louise has now returned home to her loving husband, Richard, where they are reunited once again, comforted by the promise that their family will one day be together forever. She leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories and the love of her 7 children, 22 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Her children include Debbie (Jay) Soelberg, Tina Gutierrez, JD (Julie) Rigby, Russell (Peggy) Rigby, Laureen (Ron) Seewer, Judy (Don) Buckley, and Pamela (James) Waldorf. Louise's legacy will continue to shine through the countless lives she touched with her love, creativity, and unwavering faith.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM with a viewing from 12:00 - 1:45 PM. All services will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123.
