Mary “Madea” Rigmaiden

Mary "Nookie Doll" "Madea" Rigmaiden was born May 19, 1924, in Westlake, Louisiana to Eddie Reado and Bertha Frank Reado. A resident of Westlake/Lake Charles areas, she was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church. She lived a beautiful life surrounded by family and a whole lot of love. Mrs. Rigmaiden departed this life Thursday, August 7, 2025, in Westlake. She leaves to cherish her memories, five daughters, Bernadine (Randall) Carrier, Shirley Captain, Georgia (Tyrone) Harris, Roxie Rigmaiden, and Gussie (Elton) Hall; one adopted granddaughter, Cheyenne Jordan; son, Kenneth Ray Rigmaiden; sister, Mable Lee Livingston; forty-three grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by six sons, Leon, Gene Arthur, Cleveland Lee, Paul Jr. Shelton andTommy, Rigmaiden; daughter, Stella Rigmaiden; parents, Eddie and Bertha Reado; sisters, Pearl Bates, Evelyn Gardner, Alma Ward, Helen Holmes, Victoria Stewart, Rosa Mae Ryan, Willie Mae Combs, and Josephine Reado; brothers, Alfred Reado Sr., Eddie and Edison Reado. Her visitation will be Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11AM with her funeral following at 1PM, at St. Matthew Baptist Church located at 805 Hobson Street in Westlake. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of James Funeral Home.
