Mary Margaret Simms, known affectionately as Margaret or Marg, passed away at the age of 76 on August 31, 2025. Born in Durbin, WV on February 10, 1949 to Asa and Mary Wright, she was a proud alumna of Morgantown High School and Morgantown Beauty College. Mary was a dedicated baker for most of her life, working diligently in both bakeries and supermarkets, where she brought joy to many with her delightful creations and infectious humor.

Mary was not only known for her baking talents, but also for her loving and compassionate heart. She treasured her family, always ensuring they came first. Family gatherings were her delight, and she was the life of the party, always ready with a funny story or a comforting shoulder. Mary loved going camping and traveling, exploring the world with a curiosity and zest that was truly inspiring. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, cherishing them as part of her extended family.

Mary was a dedicated mother to her children, Jacqueline and Michael, and a proud stepmother to Isa and Morgan. She adored her grandchildren, Rosetta, Mikey, Felix, Madora, Brandi, Faith, and Remmington, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was a loving sister to James and a cherished sister-in-law to Roger, Donna, and Sharon. Mary was also a beloved aunt to Carrie, Laura, Stephanie, Roger, Berwyn, Patrick, and Eric. She was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Mary, her husband, Michael Simms, her fiancé, Thomas Dunn, her stepson, Jason Simms, her sister, Doris, and her brother, Steve.

In celebrating Mary's life, we remember a woman who was full of life, laughter, and love. Her spirit was infectious, her compassion boundless, and her dedication unwavering. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched during her remarkable life.

We invite those who knew and loved Mary to share memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. These shared moments serve as a celebration of her vibrant life and the joy she brought to everyone she met.
