Mary Rebecca Soales

1950 - 2022

Mary Rebecca Soales, 71, of Greenfield, died on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.

She was born on Monday, June 5, 1950, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Layman "Les" and Agnes Harper Flinn.

On Sept. 20, 1969, she married Daniel Soales and they shared more than 52 years together.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel; their two sons, Brian Soales of Greenfield and Phillip Soales of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Landon, Andrew, Ryan and Leah; one brother, Edward Flinn of Bellville, West Virginia; and one sister-in-law, Cindy (Larry) Johnson of Greenfield.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Sams and Donna Miller; and one brother, Layman Flinn.

Mary was a 1968 graduate of South Parkersburg High School. She had worked at Weastec and the family's store, Ken's Dog House, in Greenfield. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Greenfield. She was very active in the Helen Barrett Montgomery Circle of the church where for several years she served as secretary. Mary loved the time she spent working in her flower gardens where she raised many different types of beautiful flowers.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 in the Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home, Greenfield, with Pastor Chris Stokes officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
