Mary Olivia Spurlock

Mary Spurlock, of Temple, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the age of 90.

Mary was born on March 28, 1935, in Hidalgo, Texas, to Daniel Olivarez Sr. and Frances Gonzalez. She spent her early years in Hidalgo before later moving to the Temple area as a young woman, where she would make her home and build a life centered around family and faith.

Mary was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She was known as a woman who believed deeply in the importance of family and lived her life as a faithful Christian. Her faith was an important part of who she was, and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Temple.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Vincent Spurlock, and three brothers.

Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Joe Villanueva of Temple, daughter Rosalinda Craig, son John Caddell, son Elias Escobedo, and daughter Soila Salinas all of Temple. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, along with many other family members and loved ones who will cherish her memory.

Mary will be remembered for her strong faith, her dedication to her family, and the love she shared with everyone around her.
