Mary Ellen Stanton passed away unexpectedly in Sacramento, California on Monday November 10th, 2025, at 6:31 PM. Mary Ellen was born in Oakland, California on July 10th, 1965.

Mary Ellen loved word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. She loved old crime / mystery television series and movies. Some of her favorite shows were Barney Miller, Newhart, Dick van Dyke, and Charlie Chan, as well as numerous British TV series. Mary Ellen loved landscaping and found peace taking care of her yard, which she was incredibly proud of. She loved the Sacramento Zoo, Old Sac Waterfront, and all museums. She enjoyed going to many different community festivals such as Chalk It Up and the Banana Festival.

Mary Ellen was a massive fan of NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr being her favorite driver. She was always listening to Country music and 80s Rock. She loved her dog Max, her family, and her friends. Mary Ellen was kind, honest, hardworking, intelligent, and the most giving person you could ever meet. She was loved deeply by her family and everyone who had the honor of knowing her. She will be greatly missed.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her father, Norman L. Stanton, Mother Mary E. Stanton, and brothers Joe Stanton, Rick Stanton, and Scott Stanton. She is survived by her siblings: Brother: Mike Stanton and his wife Gail of Vacaville, California, Sister: Mary Ann Stanton Marie and husband Dean of Brookeville, Pennsylvania Sister: Cathy Jenkins of Sacramento, California Brother: Lee Stanton and wife Mary of Spokane, Washington.

Nieces and nephews: Elaina Abbott and husband Jeff of Vacaville, California Christina Miller of Big Run, Pennsylvania Brianna Marie of Brookeville, Pennsylvania Alisha Jenkins of Stockton, California Christian Byrd of Sacramento, California Michael Stanton and wife Heather of Oakley, California Danielle Stanton and husband Shane of Kelseyville, California Austin Stanton and wife Parul Mahajan of Austin, Texas Rick Swenson of Vacaville, California Jesse Swenson of Texas Jamie Donnelly of Texas Jimmy Stanton and wife Jolene of Talco, Texas.

A funeral service will be held at St Mary's Funeral Center in Sacramento, California, on Monday December 1st, 2025, at 11:00 AM
