Katie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alva "Richard" Stewart; her son, Alva "Dickey" Stewart of Texarkana; and Sisters Pat Morgan of Fort Worth, Texas; and Donna Landers of Wake Village, Texas.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Richard Jordan of Texarkana; her daughter-in-law, Shannon Lock of Texarkana; two grandsons, Dakota and Zackery Howard of Texarkana; three granddaughters, Brittany Howard of Longview, Mindee Jo Penwell of Texarkana, and Tarah Gilliam of Texarkana. She is also lovingly remembered by three special little ones-Nayva, Saydee, and Aiden Gill-who knew her as their "Old Granny," as well as her adopted grandson, Josh Pinkham of Texarkana.
Katie devoted her life to caring for others. As a CNA, she had a true gift for compassion and treated every person she cared for as if they were part of her own family. Her kindness, strength, and warm spirit touched countless lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday November 29, 2025 1pm, at Landmark Pentecostal Church with Pastor Philip Lee officiating. 1601 Mall Dr., Texarkana, TX 75503.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Tri-State Cremation and Funeral Services.
