Mary Helen worked as an accountant at the Cozart Accounting Firm, where her talents and meticulous nature were greatly valued. She was not only distinguished in her professional life but also in her personal life. A proud graduate of Union University, Mary Helen earned her bachelor's degree with honors, marking her educational journey as one of her many significant accomplishments. Outside of her professional achievements, she took immense joy in playing the piano and leading the music at Providence Methodist Church and later at Woodland Baptist Church. In addition to her family life, she was an excellent cook, often bringing everyone together around her table, creating both delicious meals and cherished memories. Mary Helen's warmth and kindness will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Family was the cornerstone of her existence. Mary Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bobby Stokely, and their three children: Bobby Glenn Stokely, Jr., Denise Stokely Pearson (John), and Marcia Stokely Neal (Jeffrey). Her joyful spirit extended to her five grandchildren—Andrew Wilder Pearson, Rebecca Pearson Briley (Trebor), Karsen Gail Neal, George Lee Stokely, and Mamie Margaret Stokely—who were sources of great pride and joy in her life.
