Mary J. Strasser, of Antigo, died on December 4, 2025 at the age of 84. She was born on September 25, 1941 to the late Fred and Verna (Lapp) Rasman. She married Thomas J. Strasser on August 7, 1965 in Antigo at St. John Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2016. Mary was a 1960 graduate of Antigo High School. She went on to attend Spencerian Business School in Milwaukee. Mary was a homemaker in addition to supporting her husband in owning and operating Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, serving the community for many years.
She was a lifetime member of St. John Catholic Church. As a devoted member, she served on the parish council. Mary loved God, and she always felt his presence. There was nothing more in her earthly life she loved more than her family. That love went beyond her family, and she shared it with everyone she met. Tom and Mary together provided a home of love and always welcomed anyone who came to the door. We will all be left with sweet memories, laughable quotes and our Mom, Gram, Honey, Punkin’s eternal love.
She is survived by children, Kate (Michael) Rader of North Richland Hills, TX, Tim (Kathy) Strasser of Wausau, and Ann (Eric) Roller of Antigo; grandchildren, Michael and Meghan Rader, Charlie Strasser, Caroline (Ryan Schmidt), Sarah, and Nicholas Roller; brother Tim (Kathie) Rasman; brother-in-law Dick Strasser of Antigo; sisters-in-law, Joanne Merkel of Sykesville, MD, Lois Jones of Antigo, and Mary Guenthner of Antigo.
In addition to her parents and husband Tom, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Bonnie Strasser and brothers-in-law Charles Merkel and Dwyane Guenthner.
Our hearts are comforted in knowing that she joined her beloved husband and others who have gone before her. As she looked forward to Christmas this year, she did not know how wonderful this Christmas would be in the heavenly presence of our Lord and Savior.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at St. John Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Father Charlie Hoffman, Father Joel Sember, and Father Kamal Gopu officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 9th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and again on Wednesday, December 10th from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home before processing to church. Interment will follow the Mass at Elmwood Cemetery.
Memorials in Mary’s name may be directed to All Saints Catholic School.
